Treatment Procedure and Effects
Following application of a local anaesthetic cream, carefully selected hyaluronic acid fillers are precisely injected into specific areas of the lips.
During treatment, volume and contour are built and balanced in a highly controlled manner. Natural movement and the individual anatomy of the lips are consistently taken into consideration.
Depending on the patient's anatomy and treatment goals, Dr. Olga Latowa combines different techniques, including the Julie Horne Method, the Ferne Technique and the Swedish Lip Technique. This individualized approach allows treatment to be tailored precisely to the existing lip shape and desired outcome. The controlled placement of filler may also help reduce the risk of unwanted filler migration.
The goal of treatment is not a noticeable change in appearance, but a harmonious refinement of the natural lip shape and a balanced enhancement of the existing anatomy.

Before and After Treatment
Before Treatment
Blood-thinning medications should, unless medically necessary, be paused beforehand and discussed with the treating physician.
Alcohol and nicotine consumption should be reduced as much as possible during the 24 hours prior to treatment.
In cases of active infections in the lip area, particularly herpes simplex, treatment will be postponed. For patients with a known tendency toward herpes outbreaks, preventive medication may be advisable.
After Treatment
Immediately after treatment, swelling, a feeling of tightness or small bruises may occur.
These reactions are common and part of the natural healing process.
During the first days, the appearance of the lips may continue to change slightly before the result stabilizes and the final shape becomes more defined.
The lips should be touched as little as possible during the first hours after treatment.
Eating and drinking are usually possible again after approximately one hour.
For 3 days, the following should be avoided:
• Intense physical activity
• Alcohol and nicotine
• Sauna, heat and steam baths
• Mechanical pressure on the lips (e.g. rubbing or strong pressure)
Gentle cooling may help reduce swelling. Arnica preparations or antihistamines may also be helpful if required.
The final result can be assessed once the swelling has completely subsided, usually after approximately two weeks.
In the days following treatment, the practice remains available for any questions regarding healing and aftercare.
Contraindications
Treatment with hyaluronic acid fillers should not be performed in cases of:
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Active infections in the treatment area (e.g. herpes simplex)
• Known allergies to ingredients of the product
• Use of immunosuppressive medication
• Severe systemic or untreated medical conditions
Treatment is only performed on patients over the age of 18.
An individual medical assessment is carried out during the personal consultation preceding every treatment.
